Cardinal Wamala Warns Against Exam Malpractice

The Archbishop Emeritus of Kampala Archdiocese has warned candidates in the national primary and secondary examinations against cheating.
“Prepare calmly and go to the examination room with confidence and victory will come,” said Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala.
He disclosed that the warning followed a request from the Uganda National Examination’s Board.
The cardinal was leading a mass for candidates of Uganda Martyrs Secondary School Namugongo, Uganda Martyrs Boarding Primary School Namugongo and St. Kizito High School at the Martyrs’ Basilica in Namugongo in Wakiso district on Wednesday.
The examinations begin on Friday with a briefing of candidates. The S4 and S6 candidates start on Monday, while the ones in P7 will begin theirs on November 2.
Wamala asked the students to emulate St. Augustine. “Prayer and work should go together,” he noted.
Wamala asked students and parents to embrace the government programmes of Universal Primary Education and Universal Secondary Education.
Wamala caused subdued murmurs among students when he urged them to also embrace the ‘Universal Chastity Education’ programme.
“Do you know it (UCE)? If you are not married don’t engage in activities of married people. You have no right,” he said.
