Speaking in Dar es Salaam, CHADEMA Elders Council said the national future will be in trouble if citizens decide to ignore Police order totally after being usually beaten by police.

“We are saddened by President Kikwete silence in this tension as the police force continue to use much power in dispersing citizens causing deaths in CHADEMA meetings.” said Erasto Gotwa who is the Secretary General of CHADEMA Elders Council.

Gotwa said Polices have been beating, persecuting and killing citizens without any top say from the President hence Dr Kikwete should speak about the situation.

Also he said they strongly oppose the action taken by Police force in Iringa Region against the citizens, which led into death of Channel Ten reporter, Daudi Mwangosi on 2Nd September.
