EALA Speaker visits State House, as JK advises the Assembly to respect EAC Members’ Laws
President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete has advised the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) that has to discuss different issues about members of East African Community without intervening the laws which govern countries because they are still sovereign countries.

President Kikwete reminded that when he met with EALA Speaker, Margaret Banbtonbg Zziwa at State House when the Speaker visited him in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday, 19Th September, 2012.
“…do not forget that these are sovereign countries with laws and regulations that countries must follow and comply, so the East African Legislative Assembly can only advise them but not directed towards or hold implementation of something which is not in according to the contract countries signed ” President Kikwete said.
Hon. Zziwa who is the first woman to be EALA Speaker since its establishment visited State House to introduce to President Kikwete after she won the EALA Speaker’s sit recently.
Dr Kikwete said, “All MPs should take enough time to read and understand the procedures of the Convention and the Protocol established this community, it will help a lot in building your argument, and how to submit.”
Also President Kikwete yesterday met with the EAC Secretary General, Dr Richard Sezibera who visited him at the State House in Dar es Salaam.
Kikwete congratulated Dr Sezibera for his follow up in implementation of different issues about EAC which have helped to bring improvements within the five countries.
