East Africa Business Leaders Awards Announces 2012 Judges

The biggest business awards that will take the African continent by storm this year has announced judges for East Africa.

Dr George Njenga, Mr Josphet Mwaura and Ms Mary Waceke

The East African Business Leaders Awards are an initiative by CNBC Africa and Forbes Africa and are planned to take place in Nairobi, Kenya, on the 16 August 2012, with the aim of marking excellence in leadership and outstanding business performance in Africa. The judges are:

-      Dr. George Njenga

-      Mr. Josphet Mwaura

-      Ms Mary Waceke

Dr George Njenga is the Deputy Vice Chancellor [Research and Quality Assurance] at Strathmore Business School in Nairobi. He is the founding Dean of the Business School and has held various positions within the school. ”I feel proud to be invited to be a judge in this prestigious business awards and believe that the African leaders in business must be applauded for their hard work in the industry,” says Dr. Njenga.

Mr Josphat Mwaura, Chief Executive Officer of KPMG East Africa and a member the KPMG-Africa board. He is a Certified Public Accountant [CPA-K] and member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya [ICPA-K]. Mr Mwaura has considerable experience in the delivery of business performance services and other advisory services spanning over 20 years and is the current chairman of the East African business summit which brings together the top 100 companies in the region. For over a decade, he has been involved in transforming programmes in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.

Ms Mary Waceke Muia is an inspirational leader, business coach and executive coach.  She was recently among the Top40 under Forty Successful Women in Kenya (Business Daily, June 2011). She is a Mechanical Engineer whose career spans from strategy, operations and people management. Ms Waceke has years of work experience both in private and public sectors having held management positions and Board Membership in different organisations.
