Espoir beat KBC to remain only unbeaten side

Three-time champions Espoir remained the only unbeaten team in the national league with a 72-57 win over reigning champions Kigali Basketball Club on Saturday.

Both sides went into the game with a perfect record and with so much at stake; it was the former champions, who came out on top.

Aristide Mugabe netted 23 points which helped Espoir to secure the win, while Mike Buzangu scored a game high 26 points for the defending champions.

After seven matches, Espoir lead the league table standing with 14 points with Kigali Basketball Club on second position with 13 points, while APR are third with 12 points. Espoir are seeking their first league title since 2005.

In other matches, former champions APR overcame Kigali Institute of Education 98-77, while Circle Sportif de Kigali beat Rusizi 86-81.

New comers 30-Plus secured their first win of the season with a 65-63 victory over the National University of Rwanda.
