Feni inspires URA past Tanzania’s Simba

URA made a superb start to their Cecafa Kagame Cup campaign, beating Tanzanian giants Simba 2-0 yesterday. Moses Ali Feni headed in the 12th and 90th minute to seal a sweet victory for URA over the home side. Sam Senkoomi and Simeon Masaba provided the assists for Feni with well calculated crosses.

Simba dominated the earlier exchanges but failed to make their possession count. URA coach Alex Isabirye was overjoyed with the result and feels there is more to come from his players. “I think the boys were disciplined and played to the game plan. We have to work harder and qualify,” said Isabirye.

Despite the defeat Simba coach Cirkovic Milovan was full of praise for the winning team. “We started well but the first goal messed us up. URA is a good team and we promise to bounce back in our next game,” the Serbian explained.

URA next face DR Congo’s Vita Club on Wednesday before their last group match on July 20 against Djibouti’s Ports.

In the other games played yesterday, Azam drew 1-all with Mafunzo while Club Vita walloped Ports 7-0.
