Grandad joy at his cashback from lads

By

Grandad Barry Eastwood was gutted when a gust swept £1,000 out his hand — until passing youngsters returned almost every note.

Barry Eastwood and his cash

Barry tripped and dropped the cash — all in £20 notes — outside a bank after withdrawing it to pay his car insurance.

The 54-year-old, who has 13 grandchildren, suffers from a heart condition and could not go after the notes himself.

He said: “I saw a load of young lads making a grab for them and I thought that was the last I’d see of my money.”

Instead Barry, of Salford, Gtr Manchester, was stunned when they handed £980 back.

He added: “It was absolutely brilliant. There wasn’t a single lad who helped that was over 25.

“I was gobsmacked. It just goes to show not all young people are bad. I want to thank them all.”
