According to Brenda, she had not even quarreled with her dormitory maids and couldn’t understand why they had to mishandle her like that.
Acan Tino, who is the mother of the girl, said that she was disappointed with the school management since they never told her about the incident and she got to learn of it from another source on Wednesday. Incident occurred on Sunday and her daughter was sleeping in the cold and had to use her friend’s clothes and could not contain her mood. She decided to report the matter to the police who the school administration where not easy to them by Wednesday.
One of the police officers, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that some teachers abused them on Wednesday when they were following the investigation saying that they are illiterate and blasted the mother of the child for reporting the matter to the police. Yet they the school administration were going to handle it amicably.
The mother of the child expressed her fear that with what has just recently happened in Mbale, where a lady stub a fellow student to death could have been the case to her daughter and vowed to transfer her child from Sacred Heart School immediately, since keeping her daughter there might risk her life.
“For now, I do not trust anybody here, why couldn’t the school inform me about what had happened to my daughter, yet they are not cooperating. The head teacher told me on Wednesday that until the drainage team comes, those remaining items would be removed but –When?” she retorted yesterday from the school where she asked the 80 students in a meeting and they all denied involvement.
Gulu district crime intelligent officer Ozelle John Bosco, who today had a special meeting with the 80 suspected students from the school said that the students in a note he requested them to write all wrote that they do not know the person who did took all the property of Alimocan Brenda from the toilet.
“According to investigation, it is a self contained dormitory and once is locked no one enters or comes out. The offence is committed by the students yet most of them are aged between 15-16 years, if they could do such evil I wonder what they would do when they turn adults,“ Ozelle Bosco commented.
The OC crime added that he has already summoned the head teacher to record her statement, as well as the head of the institution and the dormitory prefect, so that the police gets to the root since the students all spoke liked they agreed, saying the same thing.
He also submitted that on Wednesday he was disappointed with the school management since they never respected his staff he had sent making him to intervene by himself today (Thursday).
The school Authority was not willing to talk to the journalist by press time hence getting comment from the head teacher proved futile* *
He gave the SD reference as 33/18/7/2012 at Gulu central police station.
