It has come to the district knowledge that many people are claiming charity organization, yet they are making money that does not reach the patient and vowed that if identified such person or organization would be arrested.
“I want people to get me very well, yes we need charity for the nodding patients, but the right channel should be followed not persons or individuals ganging up taking pictures and at the end of the day for themselves not the patients,” he said.
He said Gulu district local government has opened doors for anybody who has help for the patient to go through them but not go direct to the patients claiming they would provide help.
The speakers comment came yesterday after police confirmed having detained one called Okello Guard 73 years of age who illegally without working with the district health office started giving his traditional drugs to nodding patients in Aromowanglobo primary school in Odek subcounty ,Omoro county Gulu district of which about 6 children had consumed the drugs by the time he was nabbed by Okello Santo head teacher of the school.
