The blonde bombshell, who’s had cameos in Tower Heist and The Three Stooges, recently revealed that she would rather look like ‘a normal girl’ than a stick-thin model.

‘I don’t want to starve myself,’ she told Vogue. ’I still want to hang out with my family and be a normal girl. You have to be confident, and that doesn’t mean starving yourself.’

In fact, she plans to use her raised public profile to be an ambassador for a healthy approach to body image.

‘I think it’s important to look at magazines and think a healthy lifestyle is attainable,’ Upton explains. ‘Now that the fashion industry likes the idea of me, I’m happy if I can have an influence.’

The Michigan-born beauty said she is particularly comfortable in a swimsuit because she grew up near the beach in Florida, where it was ‘no big deal.’

‘When I lived in Florida, the swimsuit was the key wardrobe piece,’ she said. ‘I lived ten minutes from the beach, but I never sat there and said, “I want to be every man’s fantasy.”‘

Kate has long been rumoured to be dating Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander, whose grandfather confirmed the pairing earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Kate’s own grandfather Stephen Upton recalled his little girl cheering on the athlete from the stands earlier this month.

‘She was at his first game in Detroit against Oakland,’ Stephen recalled. ‘She has all of our support.’

Upton must be a lucky charm for the handsome athlete, who threw a complete game shut-out leading his team into the American League Championship Series earlier this month.
