Knowless to perform in the Netherlands
Upcoming R&B diva Knowless has been invited to perform at a charity concert in Holland on September 8 to support orphans of HIV/AIDS in East Africa.
Knowless, who has been actively participating in various charity activities in the country, was invited by Ugandans living in the European nation.
The event is expected to bring together hundreds of Ugandans and friends of East Africa across Holland, with a common goal of supporting East African children. The event will also honour outstanding members of the Diaspora as well as celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Pearl of Africa – Uganda.
Speaking to The New Times, yesterday, the 2010 Salax Award Best New Artiste confirmed her trip to Europe. She said that all the proceeds from the concert would go towards supporting the HIV/AIDS orphans in East Africa.
“The Ugandan Diaspora in Holland invited me to perform at a charity concert aimed at supporting orphans of the HIV/AIDS in East Africa,” said Knowless, born Jane Ingabire Butera. “I am utterly blessed to be part of this activity of supporting the orphans in our region.”
The R&B/ Afro fusion singer is expected to travel on Saturday, September 1 and return on Sept 10.
The aim of the concert is to make a big impact in the history of the East African community in the Diaspora.
