Ministry to guide on Kyambogo University row

The education ministry has said it will not directly intervene in the row at Kyambogo University, but instead give guidance.

“We shall not instruct its leadership on what to do. We can only guide them as of now,” Charles Bakkabulindi said during an interview at the ministry’s headquarters on Thursday.

Bakkabulindi, who is standing in for the education minister who is out of the country, said he does not agree with the decision to force the vice-chancellor out of office.

“How will the university run without authority? More so, on the principles of natural justice, we need to let the accused defend themselves before we can force them out of office,” he added.
