Msondo, Sikinde to ‘fight’ in Idd el-Fitr

The two dance music bands believed to be in Simba-Yanga rivalry, DDC Mlimani Park Orchestra ‘Wana Sikinde’ and Ottu Jazz Band ‘Msondo Ngoma’ are expected to come across at Leaders Club in  Dar es Salaam this month during Idd el-Fitr.

Fans of all two bands have been welcomed at the Leaders Club to support their bands and decide which band is the best in dance music in 2012.

According to spokesperson of Keen arts who are the organizers of the show, Joseph Kapinga said the aim of preparing the bands’ special moment is to make Dar es Salaam residents to celebrate Idd el-Fitr in different way.

“I’m sure it will be a special moment for the two bands to meet in Leaders club, in Idd el-Fitr.  And in order to avoid any complains, each band will use its own stage.” Kapinga insisted

Kapinga added, they are in process of ensuring that they provide transport from different districts of Dar es Salaam in order to increase number of fans.

It should be remembered that the two bands battled last year at TCC Club in Dar es Salaam during Christmas festival.
