Nyanza primary school gets boost from donor

Barmedas Cable Television has expressed support to Nyanza Primary school request on a fundraising programme that aims to support all schools in Mwanza Region.

At Nyanza Primary School graduation ceremony yesterday in Mwanza City, the Barmedas cable Television Chief Executive Officer, Mr Eno Barmedas said that his television management team will share ideas with the School’s management on how to generate income.

“We shall assist Nyanza Primary School in fundraising, but we would like first to establish the school needs,” he said.Barmedas who was the Guest of honour during the graduation said that Barmedas merely will not commit itself to support the school in every thing, but help them to create opportunities that will help to bring the school’s income.

He noted that Barmedas Cable Television has prepared programmes that would assists all schools in Mwanza region, both urban and rural areas.This will enable schools to network with other donors who will support the schools.Barmedas said that the Barmedas TV live programmes will help promote children talents and skills.

There will be skills and talents inter schools competition and quizzes as well as a programme for Nyanza Primary alumni who will prepare fundraising strategies.Nyanza Primary school secretary, Mrs Flora Bunango said the school is divided into three schools of Nyanza, Nyanza B and Nyanza C primary schools since 2003.157 pupils have graduated out of which 70 pupils are from Nyanza, 44 from Nayanza B and 43 from Nyanza C primary schools.
