Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Acting General Secretary, Sunday Kayuni said that the team travels to Mbeya for a number of friendlies at the invitation of Mbeya Urban Football Association (MUFA.)
While in Mbeya, he said, Serengeti Boys will play against Mbeya Combine, Tanzania Prisons and Mbeya City to train up for the Morocco 2013 finals qualifiers.
He thanked MUFA for sponsoring the team’s accommodation, meals and other logistic expenses and said the support should be emulated by other associations as well as stakeholders.
“What MUFA has done as far as the team preparations is concerned is something that should be cherished by others as it depicts by action their patriotism and maturity towards supporting the national team, instead of complaining” said Kayuni
He also praised the NMB Bank for the sports gear to the team and 5m/- as allowances for the team players while in Mbeya.Kayuni said, Serengeti Boys, so far the only national team in the continental event, needs support calling for stakeholders to offer the helping hands to make their dream real.
If it were not for the Mbeya support, Kayuni said, the team training camp would have been cancelled on financial grounds, thus calling for more funds to allow smooth training.
Serengeti is so far the only side in the continental meet, after the senior side Taifa Stars, Under-20 Ngorongoro Heroes and the women team, Twiga Stars bowed out of their respective category qualifiers.
