Suspect in murder of MUBS student for mental check up

The suspected murderer of Doreen Adikini, a Makerere University Business School (MUBS) student who was found dead in her room in Kinawaka, Hillary Oketch has been taken to Mulago Hospital to check his mental status.

Police escorts the crime suspect, Hillary Okech (centre) to Jinja Road Police Station

Adikini’s body was over the weekend discovered naked with bruises on the neck in the house she was renting in Kinawata a Kampala suburb, Nakawa division.

Police suspect that some one strangled her to death.

The Kampala Police spokesperson, Kampala metropolitan, Ibin Ssenkubi said Oketch was referred to a psychiatrist to see whether he is mentally upright.

“But our investigations continue and we are still analyzing the blood and finger prints that were got from the scene of crime,” he said.

He said they are also still hunting for the Adikini’s alleged second boyfriend only identified as Samuel.

Peace Aketch a sister to the deceased told Police that before her death, Adikini had repeatedly been accused by Oketch of having another affair outside their relationship.

But Oketch has repeatedly denied the allegations and his involvement in the murder.
