Tanzanian artists urged to improve their education level

Tanzanian artists have been encouraged to go to school in order to produce their works in competitive standard.

Film Production Expert from Institute of Arts & Media Communication, Mr Ngalimecha Ngahyoma (C) speaking to film stakeholders in Dar es Salaam on Monday.

Film Production expert from Institute of Arts & Media Communication, Mr Ngalimecha Ngahyoma made a point when he was speaking to different arts stakeholders in BASATA weekly arts forum conducted in Dar es Salam yesterday.

He said nowadays many films do not have competitive quality because producers do not have enough knowledge in film production.

“There are some key areas which want practitioners to know exactly what they do. You can know this only in colleges. Many film artists use only their talents and the result is films which have no quality as we have been observing.” Mr Ngahyoma said

He said it’s a time film artists must start to include experts in their films’ production, “this will help you to produce films which can compete anywhere because have the quality needed.”

On the side of Baraza la Sanaa Tanzania BASATA Executive Secretary, Ghonche Materego said the issue of professionalism in film production cannot be eschewed.
