Tanzania’s PM: We will improve Ward Schools

Tanzania’s Prime Minister, Mizengo Kayanza Peter Pinda has said the government will continue to improve Ward Schools ‘Shule za Kata’ because they have started to show positive results in education.

Speaking in the Assembly this morning during special ceremony of congratulating the best 20 students in 2012 National Form Six results, Hon Pinda said although different people have been criticizing Ward Schools but they have been very important in supporting students especially from lower class people.

“I think we all see here the impacts of these ward schools. Among these 20 students, there are two students whom I have noticed that they joined their A level Schools from government Ward Schools. This is a great improvement and we as the government must invest much.”

In the ceremony, each student was rewarded Tsh 200, 000, one laptop and certificate.

On the side of MPs who got the chance of congratulating the best students said the government should ensure it offers scholarship to all best students to study in the Best Universities around the world so as the nation can get best experts for the national development.

The winners stepped in the Assembly were from Marian Girls High School, Kibaha Boys High School, Tabora Boys High School, Ifunda Technic High School, Kilakala High School, Mzumbe High School and Feza Boys High School.
