Tarime teachers SACCOS get computer aid

The National Microfinance Bank has donated computers to Tarime Teachers SACCOS Ltd, in what can be described as a move meant to improve the SACCOS efficiency.

The bank has been issuing millions of shillings in soft loans to hundreds of teachers  based in the Northern Tarime District  of Mara region  through  the SACCOS, a move that has greatly  helped  to improve teachers welfare  in the  area.

The SACCOS has a total of 520 members, mainly primary school teachers who are beneficiaries, according to the IT Secretary Mr Juma Odede.Officials estimate that Tarime district which used to experience frequent clan clashes has currently over 900 teachers.

Tarime NMB Branch Manager Mr Daniel John Mubusi handed over the computers to the SACCOS top management on Thursday this week.“Giving you loans alone is not enough and that is why we saw the need of giving you these computers. They will help to keep SACCO’S records safe, “ Mr Mubusi said.

He was accompanied by several banks officials during the handing over ceremony of two Dell computers.

The SACCOS management welcomed the donation, pledging to improve service delivery.

“We thank NMB and we believe these computers will help to improve our efficiency,” Mr Odede said.
Before the donations, they had been using pens and exercise books to keep their transaction records, according the secretary.

Mr Mubusi called for good cooperation and unity among the SACCOS members and the entire leadership while pledging full cooperation.

“NMB is promising to be with Tarime SACCOS hand in hand to enable you realize your dreams,” Mr Mubusi said.

Several speakers hailed the good cooperation they get from the bank.
