Ugandan artistes to grace Uncle Austin’s album launch

Singer and KFM presenter Austin Tosh Luwano, otherwise known as Uncle Austin, is set to launch his debut album titled “Nzakwizirikaho Ibihe byose”.

The album is set for launch next month in two separate concerts. The first one takes place on July 3 at Kigali Serena Hotel with the second to be held on July 4at Petit Stade Remera Parking. Both concerts will be graced by Ugandan sensational singers Jackie Chandiru and Mowzey Radio & Weasle.

In an interview with The New Times, Uncle Austin said that he will use the two concerts to raise funds for his ailing mother’s back operation due in Nairobi, Kenya.

“I have been consulting with people nursing my mother and they say the operation will require up to Rwf20million and hopefully with the support of my fans, I will be able to raise this amount,” said the singer.

He said his mother is currently in Uganda but arrangements are underway to airlift her to Nairobi where the operation will be carried out.

Most of the singles on Uncle Austin’s new album have received critical acclaim.

These include; “Nzakwizirikaho”, “Ibihe byose”, “Nzapfa ejo”, “Indoro yawe”, “Ndafuha” and his latest “Nkunda U Rwanda”, whose video is set to be released.

The singer has also done several collaborations with local artistes including Tom Close and rapper Fireman, among others.

Apart from Chandiru and the Goodlyfe boys, local artistes Kitoko, Riderman, Urban Boyz, King James, Dream Boyz, Jay Polly, Bruce Melodie, among others, will perform at the launch.

The singer has already received a boost from MTN and Bank Populaire du Rwanda (BPR), which have already agreed to sponsor the launch.
