Vodacom ready to support Media development

Vodacom Tanzania has promised to continue supporting media development in Tanzania towards increasing media competence.

Vodacom Tanzania Head of Communication and Marketing, Kelvin Twisa who has insisted that Vodacom is committed to support media in Tanzania.

Speaking during a media seminar organized by Capital Plus International (CPI) held this weekend, Vodacom Tanzania Head of Communication and Marketing, Kelvin Twisa said Vodacom recognizes the important role played by media in Tanzania for the national development.

Twisa urged media to ensure that they improve their content because will not only increase their sales but also readers’ confidence towards the media.

“Tanzania has many resources which have not yet been exploited.   Vodacom Tanzania believes that accurate information dissemination can be the best catalyst to increase investment around the country. It is no doughty that such potential can be exploited through private sector cooperation with media.”

In the seminar entitled, ‘Rebranding and Restoration of Media image in Tanzania’, one of the facilitators, University of Dar es Salaam-School of Journalism and Mass Communication  (SJMC) lecturer, Dr  Ayoub Rioba urged journalists to stick in ethics as the only way which can make them regain their respect.

“My advice to you is to stick to journalism ethics and disseminate information without fear or bias.” Dr Rioba said
