Zantel Company and African Lyon representatives during contract signing ceremony in Dar es Salaam today, Hon Amos Makalla was the guest of honour.

In the sponsorship agreement, Zantel which sponsors both African Lyon senior and youth teams will also provide scholarship for two young players to study and develop their football talents in U.S.A.

Speaking after a contract signing ceremony in Dar es Salaam, Zantel Chief Commercial Officer Mr Sajid Khan said the two sides’ partnership represents what Zantel wants to achieve in Tanzanian sports, developing Tanzanian football.

“Any company can put their logo on a jersey and say they are sponsors but Zantel doesn’t want to be a sponsor, we want to be a partner and that is a big difference…this partnership will give us opportunity to develop football in Tanzania.” Khan said.

“We as government, we are very happy to witness this partnership which will help to improve sports and education level in Tanzania.”
